RITA To Sponsor St Wilfrid's Day Floats

RITA - Ripon Independents Traders Association is looking to find local groups that need sponsorship for St Wilfrid's Day.

St Wilfrid's Day, which is an annual event in Ripon, and part of the tradition of the City is to be held this year on the 4th August. The members of RITA feel that it is really important to keep this tradition alive, which sees the City come together to celebrate St Wilfrid.

Last year the procession had a low number of floats compared to previous years so we would like to see this year bigger and better. This is why RITA is offering to sponsor floats. This would mean paying the "entrance fee" to the event and then offering a contribution to the materials needed to decorate the float.

RITA would like to here from local groups and organisations that would like to be part of the procession, but maybe have avoided doing a float due to the costs. The local businesses are really keen to get behind this important Ripon event.

2. (Thursday 21 June) More support for St Wilfrids Parade would be wonderful. However, there is no 'entrance fee', the only cost incurred would be insurance for each float which can be arranged for Ł50
