Big Band Ball
WW1 Memorabilia to be one of the auction lots for 'Help for Heroes'.
There were occasions when soldiers were out of the trenches or indeed in them, when they had time on their hands. To pass the time, and using previously bought post cards from French/Belgic sources, and silks and threads bought in the same locations or sent from home, they embroidered and fixed their regimental colours to the cards to send to their loved ones and friends. Two such post cards, having survived almost 90 years, one in the design of the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry badge, and the other of the Royal Munster Regiment, will be auctioned as a single lot, being one of many interesting items on offer. A must for anyone interested in British Military History. Bids are invited before the evening for those who may be interested but are unable to attend the event.
