Local Cricket Teams Make National Headlines

Wednesday 26 July

Fame has struck 2 local cricket teams for playing in one of the lowest scoring matches ever.

Goldsborough 2nds played on Saturday against table topping Dishforth, in North Yorkshire's Nidderdale Amateur League. They knew it would be a tough match for them but did not expect to do so badly.

All 10 of the Goldsborough batsmen were out for a duck. For those that don't know their cricket, this means that they did not get a single run.

To try and soften the blow for Goldsborough, Dishforth put in their worst batsman first. Dishforth scored 5 runs, to win the match.

Goldsborough do not always do so badly, as a few weeks ago they scored 210 - 2, and one player hit 109 not out. For Dishforth though this was another easy win.
