Edible Woodlands
Saturday 05 April
This one day course is an introduction to creating and managing an Edible Woodland. Also known as a Forest Garden, this way of growing fruit, nuts, herbs, salads and vegetables mimics the way a natural woodland grwos. It is highly productive and relatively low maintenance. Old Sleningford Farm has a 4 year old Forest Garden and much of the day will be spent learning from our experiences. Advance booking essential. £40 per person including lunch. Grand Opening of Lockwoods new Photography Exhibition by Andrew Bayles
Wednesday 16 April
A Champagne and Canapés Reception to introduce Lockwoods new exhibition featuring stunning photography from around the world, including specially commissioned pictures of the local area. North East born photographer Andrew Bayles has won the Guardian Travel Photo of the Month award and been featured in European and US publications. Andrew will be at Lockwoods to talk about his work. Book your table for dinner accompanied by live acoustic music.

LockwoodsPhotography Exhibition
Wednesday 16 April to Wednesday 31 December
This exhibition by Andrew Bayles showcases stunning photography from exotic locations around the world such as New Zealand, Laos, Cambodia, China, San Francisco, Hong Kong...and Blackpool! The exhibition also includes specially commissioned pictures of the Ripon area. Local photographer Andrew Bayles has won the Guardian Travel Photo of the Month and been featured in European and US publications.
Matthew Lockwood said, “This exhibition builds on our award by The Times as No.1 Family Run Restaurant in the UK. We are aiming to provide a great all round experience with our menu, surroundings, service and programme of events.”
Andrew trained as a graphic designer in Leeds. Last year he got married in Las Vegas and set out on a 10 month trip around the world, during which many of the photographs in the exhibition were taken. To avoid carrying a large professional camera, Andrew used a tiny Fuji Finepix Z3.
Andrew Bayles said, “The key to taking good pictures is the same as the key to good food. Keep it simple, use quality ingredients, and concentrate on presentation. Follow these rules and you can take good pictures with pretty much any camera.”
Lockwoods is open all day Tuesday to Saturday serving breakfast,lunch, coffee, cocktails beers and wines, and an exciting evening dinner menu.
