One of Jennyruth Workshops’ supporters is organising a coffee morning at Dishforth Airfield in aid of Jennyruth Workshops on Wed 1st July, 10am – 12.30pm. They will be there to sell their wide range of items – among them a lot of new things! There will also be a Phoenix card sale as well as delicious cakes and coffee/tea. St.Cecilia Summer Concert

Where: Holy Trinity Church - Ripon Tickets: £10, £8, £5 Brief Desc: Summer Evening Concert "With an American Flavour" Details: As always, a fascinating programme from the St Cecilia Orchestra, including (given the date of the concert) music with an American flavour. Stravinsky's very attractive "Dumbarton Oaks" Concerto was written in, and for friends in the USA, Copland's Clarinet Concerto is rapidly becoming one of the most popular modern concertos and we have a very fine, young, local soloist, Vicky Sheehan-Dare, to play it. Short pieces by Charles Ives begin each half of the concert and the programme finishes with Haydn's Symphony No 60 - written in 1776, the year of the Declaration of Independence.

Joe Cornish Photography Exhibition

Joe Cornish Photography Exhibition "Water and Stone: Essence of Yorkshire" at Lockwoods

Joe Cornish the internationally renowned photographer, author and lecturer, especially known for his work for the National Trust has a passion for the outdoors, and believes photography has a vital role to play in inspiring environmental conservation. The outstanding landscapes of Northern England are Joe’s inspiration.

Matthew Lockwood, owner of Lockwoods Restaurant in North Street Ripon has a passion for food made from fresh locally produced ingredients, and the ethos of his restaurant is “a refreshing experience of traditional flavours, in a relaxed contemporary setting”

A major six month long exhibition of photographs by Joe Cornish, “Water and Stone: Essence of Yorkshire”, will be featured at Lockwoods in North Street, Ripon.

Joe Cornish said, “I am delighted to be sharing my love of landscape, of wild places, and of creative artistic photography in a venue such as Lockwoods that reflects the same values, and encourages care for the environment. “

Matthew Lockwood said, “Fresh locally produced food is good for the environment, and healthy for body and mind. I am delighted that we will be exhibiting Joe Cornish’s outstanding and inspiring photography to add to the Lockwoods experience”.

Jennyruth Workshops is organising a golf day at Ripon City Golf Club on Thursday 9th July. There will be amazing prizes. For this day they need 36 teams of four for a Stableford competition. Ripon Old Cars Gathering

On Sunday, 26th July, Ripon Old Cars will be holding their 15th Classic Car Gathering and Family Fun Day on Ripon Racecourse. The event will include not only a large classic car, motorcycle and commercial vehicle display but will also host autojumble and craft stalls. All proceeds go to the Stroke Association and local charities.
