The Golden Lion

The Golden Lion is a traditional family pub situated 2 minutes walking distance from the town centre and 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral, but still has many of its original features. It offers a good selection of locally brewed real ales as well as a varied wines and spirit menu.

Neil and Sarah offer a friendly welcome to everyone and have Bed & Breakfast facilities available.
Our newly refurbished conservatory is available for private functions both during the afternoons and evenings. It has its own bar servery and toilets, offering an environment separate from the main bar. We can cater for up to 70 people seated and is a popular venue for birthdays, christenings, anniversaries, formal dinners, seminars and local group gatherings.
