AWARD WINNING BUILDING FIRM IN HEAVEN AS IT LAUNCHES IN NORTH YORKSHIRE

Federation of Master Builders three times award winner John Duncan has launched a new North Yorkshire division on the back of its latest accolade.

Federation of Master Builders three times award winner John Duncan has launched a new North Yorkshire division on the back of its latest accolade.

The South Tyneside-based renovation and high-specification construction company recently won the FMB’s regional Heavenly Builder award for customer satisfaction – its third award in eight years.

Now also celebrating its tenth year of trading, John Duncan is using the latest award as a platform to open a base in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

The Yorkshire arm to the company will be led by experienced construction expert Jason Lewis who has joined John Duncan from main nationwide contractor Newman Scott. Jason’s experience working on previous major projects including revamping Beaverbrooks shops, Hugo Boss stores and the Heathrow airport will be a great asset to John Duncan clients on any project within the domestic industry.

John Duncan managing director Duncan Binnie said: “To win our third award in three years has given the firm a real boost. Over the years we have done a lot of work in more upmarket homes across Northumberland and County Durham in semi-rural areas. In terms of expanding our footprint North Yorkshire was a logical place to move into especially as we specialise in sensitively renovating traditional and unique homes.

“Jason is a great addition to the team. Based in Ripon Jason he has a wealth of experience and works to the extremely high standards that we adhere to on all our projects.”

This time around John Duncan won the FMB regional Heavenly Builder award for its internal refurbishment on a property in Northumberland. The team is now looking forward to the national finals of the Master Builder of the Year Awards which will be announced by architect and TV presenter George Clarke at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London later this month (March).

Phil Parkinson, FMB Services Director for the Northern Counties said: "The Heavenly Builder award gives clients the opportunity to thank their builder for going above and beyond the call of duty to complete the job and turn a potentially stressful experience into an enjoyable one. The standard of entries this year is amongst the highest we have seen and reflects the expertise, attention to detail and professionalism of the region’s builders.

"John Duncan should feel justly proud of their achievement in winning the Heavenly Builder award, and we wish them every success in the national competition."

Previously John Duncan has won FMB awards for the complete renovation of a £600,000 home in Newcastle which once completed was valued at 1.4million also for a basement conversion for under £100,000 and the refurbishment of a top class Indian restaurant..
