Tastes of Yorkshire Food and Drink Festival
Food Glorious Yorkshire Food! Join us as chefs cook up a storm in the Deliciously Yorkshire kitchen with demonstrations from top Yorkshire chefs. Take a stroll round Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse, enjoy the lovely scenery, relax with a range of music on the bandstand, taste and browse some of Yorkshire’s finest produce at our Gourmet Market. Head for chocolate heaven and take part in painting a life sized chocolate Racehorse. The ideal day out for food lovers and families, come and join us at Ripon Racecourse on Saturday 8th June to celebrate Yorkshire’s finest produce.
Newby Hall Tractor Fest
A two-day event showcasing the iconic British Nuffield tractors, plus crawlers great and small and ‘100 Years of Tractors’ – from veteran engines to modern day tractors.
New for 2013 is the MARCH OF THE TRACTORS. Tractors will parade from Newby Hall to Ripon’s historic market square. Ripon city centre will join in the celebrations by staying open into the evening which will culminate in the assembled tractors being sent on their way back to Newby Hall by the Ripon Hornblower at 9pm.
Also featuring working machinery, tractor rides, cars and trucks, interactive exhibits and the ‘Dancing Does’ tractor troupe, as well as food stalls and trade stands. The show will fly the flag for Morris Motors and Petter barn engines.
10am – 4pm

North Yorkshire Open Studios 2013
This June over 100 artists will open up their studios as part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios, a free annual event that combines culture, breathtaking views and a chance to hone your navigation skills…
With studios located right across the county, from remote dales to coastal villages and urban centres, this is a fantastic chance to spend a leisurely weekend discovering original artwork - from cutting edge craft and design to contemporary sculpture, paintings and ceramics.
This year sees two Ripon-based artists taking part in the event - Anna Poulton and Stuart Whitehead will be showing their drawings and paintings at their studios in Mickley.
This popular event runs across two weekends in June - Sat & Sun 8/9 June & Sat & Sun 15/16 June and attracts visitors from all over the UK. It’s a great excuse to explore this beautiful region and with more than 120 artists, designers and makers taking part there will be something to inspire everyone!

Saint Michael's Star Walk
Saint Michael's Star Walk, supported by Engage Mutual
The Saint Michael’s Star Walk is an opportunity for the local community to come together and show their support for your local Hospice. You might be walking in memory of a loved one, in support of someone who is living with terminal illness, to support families living in your community or simply to enjoy a good night out. Whoever you're walking for, come out and shine for Saint Michael's. The Star Walk, sponsored by Engage Mutual, is suitable for all ages and abilities and walkers can choose either a 5km or 10km route. There'll be entertainment along the way and a big starlit picnic at the end of the Walk.

Cost: Registration costs £10 for adults and children register free* until March 31! (*£5 after April 1)
