Sparkle for Saint Michael's
Banish the bah-humbugs and help raise funds for your local hospice this November and December.
Sparkle for Saint Michael's is the perfect opportunity to get into the seasonal spirit with a festive fundraiser at work, home or school. It's fun, it's simple, and you will be helping to make this Christmas extra special for families living with terminal illness and bereavement in your community.
Give Mary Berry's mince pies a run for their money with a brrr-illiant bake sale. From Christmas cookies to spiced puds and pastries, it's easy as pie to raise funds in the office, classroom or at home with friends and family.
Wrap up warm and don your jazziest jingle bell jumper or statement Santa suit for Winter Onesie Wednesday, or get ready for the party season with a glittertastic office manicure session.
Whether you're a traditionalist who likes a tried and tested tombola, or a money-raising maverick setting your sights on a sprout scoffing contest, Sparkle for Saint Michael's this November and December and have bags of fun whilst making a big difference here in the Harrogate district.

Meet the Gruffalo

There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo! Or is there?...... On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November the Gruffalof will be leaving his home in the deep, dark woods and heading to Lightwater Valley to join in the fun and frolics as we celebrate his 15th year anniversary. There will be lots of Gruffalo themed activities to take part in, a Gruffalo pantomime and of course the chance to have your photo taken with the lovable purple-spiked monster. All your favourite fairground rides will be open including Sky Ryder, Carousel and Eagles Creek Farm, as well as the Angry Birds Activity Park and Lightwater Falconry. No celebration would be complete without a party tea and you’ll find Gruffalo Crumble, Scrambled Snake and Owl Ice-cream all on the menu! So don’t miss out! Come and join in all the Gruffalo fun!

Santa Weekends @ Lightwater Valley
SANTA EXPERIENCE 29th & 30th November 13th, 14th 20th & 21st December It’s not Christmas without a visit to Santa, so bring your little ones to Lightwater Valley’s Santa Experience for a truly magical time. Join Santa and his elf for fireside stories in his grotto. There’ll be refreshments for adults and a lovely gift for each child and an opportunity for photographs. Louise Marchal: Noble Bloods
Contemporary artist Louise Marchal pays tribute to nineteenth century sculptor Frances Darlington, in a multi-media installation for the chapel of Ripon’s Prison and Police Museum.
'Noble Bloods' commemorates the World War One centenary and will be shown alongside Darlington’s sculpture, the St. George's Police Orphanage World War One Memorial completed in 1918.
