Blood Donation Session in Ripon

Blood Donation Session in Ripon

As Mother’s Day approaches, NHS Blood and Transplant is asking Ripon residents to think about mothers and children whose lives have been saved by blood donations.

A local Blood Donation session is taking place on: Methodist Church Hall Harrogate Road Ripon North Yorkshire HG4 1SU

Times: 14:15 - 16:00 & 17:00 - 19:30

Donors can attend this session with or without an appointment. There will be a number of walk in appointments on the day but these are limited so therefore attendance is advised to book appointments.

To register as new donor, or if you wish to book an appointment please call 0300 123 2323 or alternatively visit www.blood.co.uk.

While many people think that blood is used mainly for accident and emergency procedures, donated blood is vital for a wide variety of life-saving procedures. A blood transfusion can help to save the life of a new mother or be used during pregnancy to help treat both the mother and the baby. Premature babies may need a blood transfusion as well, as they may not make enough new red cells to replace the blood that is taken for essential testing.
