Theme Park Opening 2017 Date
Our Theme park reopens on the 1st April for the 2017 season and with mini, mega and ultimate adventures there is something for everyone. New for 2017 are Mini Sand Diggers and and adventure playground as well as Flying Nellies and our huge Jumpin' Jacks! bouncy pillow. Gates open at 10am with rides and attractions at 10.30am. Easter Ceramic Painting
Come to 'Just Makers' in Ripley and learn how to paint your own Easter ceramic decorations with popular tutor Zoe Hollis. You can create your own mug or egg cup, perfect for Easter gifts. Zoe will then fire your design in her kiln and return it to Just Makers for you to collect. The workshop is from 10.30- 12.30 and costs just £35
'Investigating War Crimes' - a talk by Philip Trewhitt OBE
The talk, presented by Ripon City of Sanctuary Group, will take place at 7:30pm on Monday, 10 April at Allhallowgate Methodist Church, Ripon. It is free and all are welcome.
Philip is the executive director of IICI, an international organisation based in The Hague, which investigates, and trains investigators in, alleged violations of international humanitarian law and human rights, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Philip previously held a number of positions at the United Nations and has led investigations in Iraq and Libya.
Philip’s talk will include discussion of the various types of war crime; how investigations are approached; the challenges inherent in securing convictions; and how refugees can provide evidence and be involved in the process.
