Hornblower Big Band Ball
The Hornblowers Big Band Ball will be held once again by popular demand.
The Date. The evening of Saturday 16th February 2008
Venue. As before, The Spa Hotel, Ripon.
The Band. The 18 members of The Manhattan Sound Big Band and their guest singers, under the direction of Bill Charleson, having enjoyed themselves so much last year are more than pleased to come and entertain us once again.
Format. Full evening dinner, dress will be black tie, tickets limited to 120 to ensure ample room for dancing, and as before there will be a short break in the programme for a fund raising auction, with the proceeds going to the Mayors Appeal fund for St. Michaels Hospice and Ripon Scouts and Guides.

Call My Bluff Wine Tasting Evening at Lockwoods

Three course dinner and complimentary tasting of six intriguing wines. Your challenge is to guess which of three possible descriptions of each wine is correct. The best wine afficionado at the end of the evening will of course receive resounding applause, and a prize!

British Heart Foundation's Fountains Abbey Winter Walk
This 10 mile sponsored winter walk explores Fountains Abbey, the Studley Royal Estate and surrounding winter countryside. Crossing the winter landscape the walk finishes with a stunning approach to this World Heritage site with time to explore at the end of the day.

Godspell - the musical
Following their 2001 success with 'Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' and their own sequel, 'Let My People Go' in 2004, the young people of Holy Trinity Church Ripon are taking to the stage again with a production of Godspell.
One of the most successful musicals of all-time, Godspell is based on the Gospel of Matthew, re-enacting parables and scenes from the life of Jesus in an emotional and energetic way.
Proceeds will be split equally between the work of the church and Beit Trust Hospital, Blantyre, which offers free orthopaedic surgery in order to change the lives of children in Malawi.
Performances will be at Holy Trinity Church Ripon, starting at 7:30pm. Tickets £7.50/£5.00 concessions.
